The MLN Group has begun construction on the Calahorra Intermodal Station. On a 10,695-square-meter plot, the works are well underway, marking a milestone in the modernization of the town’s transport infrastructure.
The project includes the creation of a new bus station adjacent to the train station, with access from Viacampo Street. In addition to the renovation of the existing train terminal, part of the platform will be adapted into a recreational area, equipped with pergolas for greater user comfort.
The surrounding area, called “Intermodal Plaza,” will be a new meeting and connection point for travelers. It will feature bus bays, city bus stops, parking spaces, taxi stands, and an innovative solar charging station for devices with USB ports.
In addition to improvements to the railway infrastructure, including track upgrades, buffer stops, and overhead lines, the project will create green spaces and accessible pedestrian walkways, promoting a more pedestrian-friendly and safer environment.
One part of the project involves the renovation of the two existing warehouse buildings, which will be transformed into a modern intermodal transport terminal. This space will not only house top-quality services, a cafeteria, and other complementary amenities, but also a multipurpose hall, opening up new possibilities for events and community activities.
