The MLN Group sponsored the first edition of the Aragonese Building Gala, held at the World Trade Center Zaragoza on February 8, 2019. This initiative aims to highlight projects and initiatives being developed in Aragon within the building and construction sectors, which are considered benchmarks throughout Spain. The event brought together all stakeholders in the building sector.
At the event, the first Aragon Building Awards were announced. Forty-five projects were nominated across five categories, and the winners were:
Best Innovation Project Applied to Building: The Circe Foundation and its Tribe project. The jury valued the use of real-world data across different building types with the goal of changing users’ energy habits.
Best Sustainable Building Initiative in Aragon: The CC+ construction system, by the company B+Haus. Special recognition was given to the excellent energy and environmental efficiency results achieved by an industrialized and easily replicable construction system.
Best Building Rehabilitation Project in Aragon: Rehabilitation of the social housing building located at 4 Anzánigo Street in Zaragoza, carried out by the architecture and engineering firm Arquipro. The community effort and replicability of the project, as well as the building’s energy efficiency improvements and accessibility, are noteworthy.
Best Public Building Initiative: Comprehensive rehabilitation of 10 homes under the Enerphit standard for nearly zero energy consumption. This project, carried out in Teruel by the Directorate General of Housing and Rehabilitation of the Government of Aragon, demonstrates the exemplary social impact of comprehensive rehabilitation using very low energy consumption criteria and its driving effect on both society and industry stakeholders.
Best Construction Management: Adrián Zorraquino, building engineer, for the rehabilitation of the building at 2 Peña Oroel Street in Zaragoza. The jury highlighted its uniqueness, as well as the social relevance of the building and its unique details.
