The MLN Group has been awarded the Aragón Circular Seal by the Department of Economy, Planning, and Employment of the Government of Aragón. This important recognition demonstrates the MLN Group’s commitment to the circular economy and the implementation of best practices across its diverse activities.

In awarding this seal, the Group was assessed based on the degree to which circular economy principles are integrated into its daily operations, their impact throughout the value chain, and their contribution to achieving a sustainable, decarbonized, resource-efficient, and competitive economy for Aragón.

The most noteworthy actions the MLN Group is undertaking in the area of ​​the circular economy include: the application of ecodesign criteria, the restoration and agricultural regeneration of exploited gravel pits, life cycle assessments of all its activities, the management and utilization of natural resources, the sourcing of raw materials, the efficient management of generated waste, the development of innovation projects with a sustainable focus, and communication and awareness-raising initiatives throughout the value chain.

Grupo MLN’s vision in obtaining the Aragón Circular Seal is to boost its competitiveness and strengthen its strategy toward a sustainable economy. In line with continuous improvement, Grupo MLN has implemented a dashboard with circularity indicators to periodically measure its performance and focus its future actions on gradually achieving new circularity targets. These indicators are defined taking into account the critical points in the value chain identified through life cycle analysis, as well as the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals related to the circular economy.

The awarding of this distinction will provide both Grupo MLN itself and its partner organizations with the possibility of obtaining a favorable assessment in contract bidding processes and in calls for grants and subsidies.

Since Grupo MLN began its journey in the Aragón industrial sector more than 55 years ago, the concept of circularity has been central to all its activities. The growth of the companies that make up the Group has always been accompanied by criteria of economic and environmental efficiency, supported by the full utilization of resources. Proof of this was the implementation of the ISO 14001 environmental management system more than 20 years ago, which paved the way for excellence.

Therefore, this certification recognizes the effort and commitment of the MLN Group to implementing the principles of the circular economy since its inception.
