The rehabilitation work on the pedestrian bridge over the railway line on Gonzalo de Berceo Street in Logroño has begun with the erection of the scaffolding necessary to work on the access ramps and stairs. The project, which has a six-month timeframe, includes various improvements to ensure the safety and functionality of the structure.
In the coming weeks, the ramps will be sandblasted and cleaned to remove paint residue. Subsequently, repairs to the structure will be carried out, including the replacement of steps, landings, railings, and deteriorated anchor points.
One of the most important aspects of this project will be the replacement of the fencing, with the aim of improving the safety of both pedestrians and the infrastructure, preventing objects from falling onto the railway line. Furthermore, fiberglass reinforced polymer (FRP) will be used in the new elements installed, a material that prevents the accumulation of water and dust, reducing the risk of corrosion.
The project also includes widening the ramps and steps, as well as the main span of the footbridge, which will facilitate pedestrian traffic. As a complementary improvement, the lighting will be upgraded, incorporating LED fixtures to improve energy efficiency and visibility in the area.
