Work has been completed on the expansion of the PLAZA Logistics Platform in Zaragoza to accommodate Amazon’s facility. The multinational has secured the largest plot at PLAZA, a development covering an area of 33.7 hectares, where 88 per cent of the leasable space is already occupied.

This expansion will bring the total leasable area in the logistics zone to the south of the hub to over 203,118 m². Furthermore, it will provide a large plot to be occupied by Amazon. This project will also facilitate an increase in the area of the public logistics platform, thereby meeting demand from businesses in Aragon. Indeed, 88 per cent of the leasable space at PLAZA is already occupied. Consequently, this expansion will provide two plots: one large and one smaller.

Grupo MLN and COPHA have been involved in the expansion process and have managed to meet the set deadlines. To achieve this, the land had to be excavated and the excess excavated material used for backfilling. This work was carried out in two shifts – day and night – managing to excavate around 15,000 m³ per day.
