The Irrigation Transformation Project for the La Llana Irrigation Community of Huércanos (La Rioja) is being carried out by Grupo MLN. Construction of this new hydraulic infrastructure began in October 2019 to transform 559.85 hectares into irrigated land. These hectares belong to the municipalities of Huércanos, Cenicero, and Uruñuela, located in the Autonomous Community of La Rioja.
The main actions to be carried out in this project are: construction of the intake structure for the right bank canal of the Najerilla River; construction of an 18,158 m³ regulating reservoir; installation of a pumping station with a flow rate of 225 l/s; and 6 km of ductile iron and PVC-O pipeline. Construction of a second 20,374 m³ storage reservoir at an elevated elevation, from which the main network will originate, and finally, construction of the irrigation network designed for a flow rate of 306 l/s, consisting of more than 200 km of HDPE pipe. A comprehensive remote control system for the irrigation system will also be implemented, allowing for optimized water resource management.
The work currently underway involves earthmoving for the regulating reservoir and the installation of the irrigation network on the plots.
With the execution of this Irrigation Transformation Project for the La Llana de Huércanos Irrigation Community, Grupo MLN continues to consolidate its presence in the La Rioja region.
