The iconic Pignatelli building, currently the seat of the Government of Aragon, is about to undergo an unprecedented transformation that will not only improve its energy efficiency but also its functionality and sustainability. This ambitious project, designed and executed by the MLN Group, aims to reduce non-renewable primary energy consumption by at least 30%.<\/p>\n

The project will cover nearly 44,000 square meters and will focus on several key aspects. These include the installation of 294 photovoltaic panels on the building’s roof to harness solar energy and reduce dependence on non-renewable energy sources. Lighting will be replaced with energy-efficient LED technology, and sensors will be installed for more efficient management. The smooth plasterboard areas of the suspended ceilings will be replaced with panel ceilings, improving insulation and interior comfort.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the heat generated by heat pumps in winter will be used to cool the Data Processing Center (DPC). The existing elevators will be replaced with more efficient electric models. The interior facades of the building will undergo a complete renovation, replacing the windows and glazing. A total of 68 windows will be replaced with new laminated pine frames, and 140 existing window panes will be replaced with high-efficiency, multi-pane glass.<\/p>\n

The project will also include improvements to the building’s accessibility and security systems, fire safety, and a comprehensive restoration of the church facade.<\/p>\n

Finally, a management system will be implemented to intelligently regulate climate control, lighting, electrical outlets, water supply, ventilation, and the monitoring of auxiliary and autonomous equipment.<\/p>\n
