The impact of human activities is increasingly negatively affecting the health of the planet. It is necessary to rethink our actions from the perspective of the sustainability of our environment if we want to preserve it for as long as possible in healthy living conditions. Consequently, business organizations are considering how their general practices affect the ecosystem in order to analyze their processes from this perspective and, based on that analysis, modify them with a more sustainable approach.<\/p>\n
CMLN’s Executive Management is fully committed to raising social and environmental awareness regarding the company’s activities and, therefore, requested an initial calculation of greenhouse gas and CO2 emissions released into the atmosphere in 2021.<\/p>\n
To carry out the measurement, a specialized consulting firm collaborated, providing its experience, knowledge, and calculation model, based on the greenhouse gas verification methodology and in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol \u2013 Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard (GHG PROTOCOL). Subsequent verification was carried out by the prestigious accreditation body AENOR, which issued the corresponding certificate available on this website. The measurement was also registered with the electronic headquarters of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO).<\/p>\n
The next steps in this area will focus on reducing emissions in the coming years and achieving offsetting in the medium term.<\/p>\n
Thus, CMLN holds ISO 14001 compliance certification and the GHG Protocol carbon footprint calculation certificate, accredited and registered in the MITECO database.<\/p>\n
Certification of these types of environmental practices is essential for participating in both public and private tender processes and is currently highly valued. However, it will undoubtedly be a disqualifying factor in the coming years for companies that do not possess this certification.<\/p>\n
